Every challenge offers a choice, a chance; a change. YCSA’s specialist Drug & Addiction Service is here to provide young people with the motivation to tackle challenges, make positive choices, and increase potential chances to effect positive changes.
Keep your thoughts positive because you thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.
Admitting that drugs are affecting your life can be extremely hard to even recognise let alone admit. Many go through a whole range of emotions from guilt, denial, shame, anxiety, powerlessness, confusion & fear. If you, or someone you know, can’t get through certain situations without relying on drugs, are losing control of how much they are using or spending or are trying to cut down or stop then support is available. We aren’t here to judge, criticize or force anyone, we simply want to help you achieve your goals.
The project engages with the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) community to provide information and support regarding drugs, alcohol and addiction and to reduce the potential related harm. The service has 3 elements in order to make the most meaningful impact:
- Detached Youth Outreach
- Interventions (individual, group, famiy)
- Awareness Workshops
Alongside this, we work closely alongside partner agencies in order to:
- Improve overall service delivery
- Increase awareness of cultural barriers
- Signpost & support access to support
All information will be treated confidentially with absolute sensitivity & no judgement whatsoever.
