Duration: 35 hours per week (potentially reducing to 28 hrs p.w. from April 2019) funded for 3 years
Salary: £23,947 per annum/pro rata
Base: YCSA Office at 48 Darnley Street, Glasgow, G41 2SE
Funded by BBC Children in Need, the Robertson Trust, the Corra Foundation

Ctrl Alt Delete Development Worker (to work with 16-25 age group)
Duration: 35 hours per week initially funded till March 2019
Salary: £23, 947 per annum/pro rata
Base: YCSA Office at 48 Darnley Street, Glasgow, G41 2SE
Funded by the Scottish Government People & Communities Fund

YCSA Development Workers support and empower young people from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds to become active and valued members of society. Work includes 1:1 individual, person-centred and group support empowering young people in employment, educational and social contexts to reduce social exclusion and poverty. The Youth Development Worker will organise and run activity clubs and a homework club for BME young people. The Ctrl Alt Delete Development Worker will work to enable young people to move on to positive destinations such as employment or further education.

The role of the ‘Ctrl Alt Del’ Development Worker is to support and empower young people from BME backgrounds to become active and valued members of society. To develop and deliver a high quality service which provides 1:1 individual, person-centred and group support empowering young people in employment, educational and social contexts to reduce social exclusion and poverty. To ensure service outputs are delivered effectively and outcomes achieved. To develop and maintain partnerships with key local and national stakeholders.
Reports to: Ctrl Alt Delete Programme Lead

PVG Scheme: The role requires individuals to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme if not already a member. The post is subject to the Scheme Record accessed prior to the post commencing.
Responsibilities
 Provide developmental support to encourage and empower clients to engage in activities that improve their life, aspirations and employability opportunities
 Through 1:1 support and group work to empower young people to identify barriers and overcome them through finding positive alternatives
 Design and deliver appropriate, creative and other engaging intervention programmes including planning resource requirements and effectively market, monitor and evaluate programmes
 Develop opportunities for young people which focus on their learning, employment opportunities and personal development
 Carry out a needs assessment and establish, agree and deliver a development plan with each young BME person
 Maintain personal development records of each young BME person registered into the service and prepare high quality reports quarterly, annually and on completion of programmes
 Ensure all monitoring, recording systems and business processes are kept accurate and up to date at all times
 Develop and maintain strong partnerships within public, private and third sectors and enhance the service referral process and pathways for young people
 Provide effective support in raising employment and language/literacy skills
 Support and contribute to departmental, organisational and partnership goals/objectives, projects and initiatives
 Maintain a working knowledge of YCSA and other organisational services in order to refer service users to the most appropriate opportunity and communicate effectively with both internal and external colleagues
 Identify and cultivate funding opportunities for the service and organisation and support with funding applications
 Support development and practice of volunteers working with CAD clients
 Understand and abide by the policies of the organisation including Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, and Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults
 Carry out any other duties as directed by management

 Identify and cultivate funding opportunities for the service and organisation and support with funding applications
 Understand and abide by the policies of the organisation including Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, and Protection of Children and other vulnerable individuals
 Carry out any other duties as directed by management
